Journal With Me: Love Letters to Myself

Hello lovelies!
Today I’m sharing with you a letter-writing exercise and journal with me video. For this exercise, I’ll be creating a three-pocket envelope using the new monthly printable and then writing three letters to myself: one to my past “younger” self, one to my present “current” self, and one to my future self.
You can approach these letters however you want. In these letters, you can congratulate, encourage, or forgive yourself about anything on your mind and in your heart. I like to do this as a self-encouragement exercise where I give myself a lot of grace. We are all going through our own struggles, so write to yourself in whatever way will bring you healing, comfort, and grace.
How I like to tackle this is by forgiving my past self, encouraging my present self, and congratulating my future self for all it went through.
I really hope this exercise is healing for you. I’ve found that letter writing either to myself or to other people has been so beneficial to my mental and emotional health, especially during times of inner and outer turmoil. It helps me to process my thoughts and emotions in a way in which is healthy, as I’m quite prone to immediately reacting to them in a not-so-positive way. Letter writing makes me slow down and sit with my feelings a little bit. Also, paper is so forgiving. You could literally lash out at it and get all of your frustrations out, and it’ll take the hit without the consequences of more conflict.
xx Tiffany
