I made myself this wonky looking coin purse/wallet I made myself this wonky looking coin purse/wallet the other night because my Cath Kidston wallet was just becoming a little too big for my needs. I've been wanting something a little smaller and compact. I love my Vera Bradley Disney one like this, but sadly it's starting to get holes! So I used it as a template of sorts to make this one out this lovely fabric I treated myself to this summer. It's not perfect, but I really love that I made this with my hands and it'll serve its purpose well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Wednesday loves! xx
Book 14/25: Wanderlost by Jen Malone Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I absolutely LOVED this book. It was so light-hearted and I was instantly sucked into it right from the start. It was definitely the type of book I needed right now to escape into. I've just been feeling all sorts of down lately and this one had me wanderlusting about my Eurotrip days and just a lighter time, you know? It was nice and I enjoyed it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So not to give too much away, but it's about a girl who helps her older sister by pretending to be her as a travel guide to an elderly group in Europe. It's about change and love, with loads of different European cities as a back drop. My kind of YA novel. I highly recommend if you like this sort of read! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (Kinda bummed I slept on my book and ruined the cover lol)
I've been working through some difficult things la I've been working through some difficult things lately and it's been nice to leave these little "note to selfs" in my journal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, have I mentioned how awesome it feels to write out your thoughts, worries, and feelings? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My journals up until this year have been filled with paint, ink, and collages, but not really words. Yes, quotes and little notes here and there, but never straight up journaling. I've always been more of a visual journaler and memory keeper. I enjoy putting together pages and spreads visually, making sure I enjoy how everything looks. I never really focused on the story per se. I let the layout and art tell that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But there's just something about words. And as a person with a degree in creative writing, you would think I would know this already. And deep down buried under all the things, I did, but it often takes putting something back into practice to really remember. (Plus, I'm used to writing fiction and never about myself, so this has been a great unfurling process for me).

Today's Flip-Through Friday is my Disneyland 2018 altered book journal.I LOVE THIS BOOK.By far my most favorite Disney album I have every made. I used an Alice in Wonderland book for this one. I made the cover using the hardcovers from the book I altered, extending the spine with some chipboard and then covered the entire thing in a pink floral fabric.
