the lovely journal

There’s no right or wrong way to journal, but there is a lovely way…

about the course

The Lovely Journal is a beginner’s course on kind-of, sort-of journaling like me. I say “kind-of, sort-of” because everyone has their own unique style that will always shine through even if you step by step follow my process of creating.

In The Lovely Journal, I will show you how I create my lovely little A6 journals, walking you through the simple creation of the handmade fabric cover journal as well as providing some tips on how I match my colors, papers, and themes. I share an in-depth list of supplies I love to use to create my part-art, part-junk, part-scrapbook type journals.

I also walk you through a handful of prompts and processes to jumpstart your creativity and keep you inspired. These are simple techniques that I personally find I go back to again and again in my journals and they really define my personal journaling style.

This course is perfect for journalers who are just starting their own journaling journey, enjoy my style, and want to learn a few ways to add that aerialovely aesthetic to their own work.

YOUR TEACHER

Hello. I’m Tiffany Julia. I’m an artist living in New York City with an absolute passion for documenting my everyday life. I love to write, compose music, scrapbook and create art. I’m a creative of all kinds really, who also enjoys traveling the world and learning about different cultures, all while I eat tons of delicious food. I love documenting my various journeys around the world in thick handmade travel journals, and while I’m not out traversing the globe, I enjoy documenting the everyday in my scrapbooks and experimenting with mixed media in my art journals.

I have an unrestrained passion for many things and I often find myself longing for something greater than life. I hope to share my creativity and inspire you to create beautiful imagery and document your own life in a meaningful way.

FAQ

I'VE NEVER JOURNALED BEFORE, IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

This course is for all types of journalers–beginners, intermediates, and advanced. It is however a jumpstart course on how to create journals in my signature lovely style.

WHAT SUPPLIES DO I NEED FOR THE COURSE?

There will be an entire lesson on gathering supplies. But basic supplies needed for this course are: a journal, a pen, your life photos and ephemera, paper, stickers, and some paints.

In the course I show you how to create your own A6 fabric cover journal. If you do choose to create the journal, you’ll need: fabric, a sewing machine (or needle and thread), an assortment of papers, and an awl.

WHERE CAN I ACCESS THE COURSE?

After payment, the course will be added to your account dashboard under Ecourses.

You will also receive an email detailing how to access the course content from your My Account dashboard.

The entire course is available on the site.

AM I GOING TO NEED A SEWING MACHINE?

Yes. We will be using a sewing machine to create our fabric cover journals. While you can do the stitching by hand, it will be easier if you had a machine on hand.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS TO THE COURSE?

Once enrolled, you have immediate access to the course content forever.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?

The course is broken down into 3 sections, 20 lessons in total.

This is a self-paced class, meaning once you have access to the course contents, you may begin and work on the class at whatever time, in whatever pace suits you.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Due to their digital nature, there are no refunds on any of my ecourses or ebooks.

I STILL HAVE A QUESTION.

Feel free to contact me and we can chat.

I shared a quick process of creating this spread in my @daphnes.diary scrapbook on my Youtube channel the other day. I haven't been very good at sharing these pages (or any journal pages) here lately. TBH, I've kind of been focusing on other things recently and doing more straight writing journaling than creative journaling. It's weird. I'm in a weird space. But I also feel like I'm supposed to be in this space, you know?

I shared the quick process of creating this spread in my @daphnes.diary scrapbook on my Youtube channel the other day. I'm quite behind in sharing all of these pages (and to be honest quite behind in actually documenting my last few weeks) but it is what it is. I'm not stressing it...just like how I'm not stressing that I'm MONTHS behind in my 5-year journal lol. Glad I've been daily journaling in my planner! xx

My new (small) TBR book stack for this year. I have it to hopefully read 20 books this year, but I decided to only pull out about 10 to see if I can get through that first. Y'all, I'm terrible at reading these days. I think I just need to do better at making time for it, so I started reading before bed. We'll see how it goes. Friend me on Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/aerialovely! I love seeing everyone's challenges! xx

Baby boy is 15 years old today! He's no little boy anymore, but a fine old senior dog (actually I think technically he's geriatric). He's definitely slowed down quite a bit with his thyroid problem and just general old age. C19 has definitely been really hard on him. He was struggling with his hyperactive thyroid all through 2020 and no one could figure out why he was so sad and blah until mid-2021 when he got properly diagnosed. But since being on his meds, he's got that puppy spirit again! He does have some separation anxiety now and literally needs to be with people constantly. But that's a given especially since there's always someone home now for him to be with. But it's getting better though! The absolute highlight of his week though is going over to our neighbor's apartment every Tuesday as I tutor one of the girls in math. He gets SO happy then because he gets to play lol. HBD Joey! xx

Driftwood—documenting the signs and synchronicities I see in my life. I'm paying attention to these little coincidences of life. At the beginning of the year, I took @gabbybernstein's manifestation challenge and she had us choose something to be our sign so that whenever we see it, it's a sign from the Universe that what we want is actually on the way. I chose "seeing hearts" because it felt right and aligned with my guiding word for the year, Heart. Gabby asked us to keep a list of all the driftwood we collect, and my god have I been seeing hearts. And while what I desire might not happen right away, I feel like this is the Universe’s way of telling me to trust—to let go and trust.

Into the unraveling journal it all goes. Happy Friday loves. xx
