DIY Delfonics Utility Pouch

May 15, 2019
Delfonics Utility Pouch

If you’ve been following along over on my Youtube channel, you’d know that a few weeks ago I shared this pouch I made to house my journaling supplies that looks a little like the Delfonics Utility Pouch. The response was seriously overwhelming, with everyone either wondering if I was selling them or if there was a tutorial on how to make them. I responding to each comment asking me this, and after awhile kept saying that I’ll make a tutorial soon.

Well, soon is today.

This tutorial literally took me FOREVER to make. The pouch itself took me 12+ hours to create, but when you add in filming every single minute of the process, the entire thing takes a lot longer. I worked for three days filming and another three days editing, and finally–FINALLY–we have ourselves a Delfonics Utility Pouch tutorial!

Delfonics Utility Pouch

Along with the four-part tutorial (yes, it’s in four parts because it was just too long to be made into one complete part), I created a small PDF detailing the supplies and measurements on how to create the small A6 and large A5 pouches. This PDF also includes patterns you can print and cut out to use to create the pieces you’ll need to make your pouch. The PDF is currently up in my shop if you wish to purchase it and following along with the video tutorial. You don’t really need to purchase it, but if you want to make the exact same pouches I’ve made, it’s a pretty good deal as you can easily follow along with the tutorial. The four-part video tutorial is free.

I really hope this tutorial is simple and easy to follow. I tried to be as thorough and concise as possible, so that you can follow along and easily create your own pouch! Below is the four-part tutorial (in playlist form) for your viewing pleasure. If you end up creating a pouch from this tutorial, I would love to see! I had so much fun with this color scheme and style that I went ahead and made two matching #littleartnotes! This color combo is super rare for me (Titan Buff and Titan Mars Pale with Payne's Gray marks), but I'm really digging it!

When I originally set up these pages in my @getmes When I originally set up these pages in my @getmessyartjournal Season of Bloom art journal, I left a lot of space to write about what blooming means to me. It means growth, blossoming, and becoming. It means to flourish. It also represents nature and the restorative power of being in the wild.

Bloom means a lot to me and yet while finishing up some of these half-finished pages, I was at a loss for words. This is when I found that word phrase stickers really help get the message across. xx
Just another spread in my @getmessyartjournal Seas Just another spread in my @getmessyartjournal Season of Bloom art journal. A lot of these pages were already in progress, so it's interesting to see them finished. I'm sure I had other intentions for what they were going to look like a couple of years ago when I first created this journal. Now, I'm content with matching colors, adding paint, and a few scribbles. This journal is all about the process of creating for me now, which I think is still a source of growth. xx

I'm quite obsessed with using this Payne's Gray NeoColor crayon to make some scattered marks on my page. You might see a lot more of this in future spreads from this book. xx
