a guide to arts + crafts stores in hong kong

August 15, 2016

If there’s one thing I love about traveling is getting to visit and shop at many amazing art, stationery and scrapbooking stores from around the world. While I haven’t been as serious about visiting these type of stores on my travels in the past, I recently decided to try my best to find all the cute shops to visit in all the different places I’ve been to around the world. In this segment of “A Guide to Arts + Crafts Stores Around the World,” I’d like to introduce you to all the lovely shops of Hong Kong! I wasn’t in Hong Kong very long, so I don’t have much of a concise list as I’d like. But here’s a list of shops in Hong Kong that I know should be on top of any paper lover’s “to visit” list.

Hong Kong

  • Chung Nam Book & Stationery Co. Ltd. – The biggest stationery store in Hong Kong! Seriously, this shop has a total of four levels and sells everything from cute stationery to art supplies to your basic office supplies. Great place to visit for any stationery lover! Best part, it’s located right on Nathan Road. Address: 503號 Nathan Rd, Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong
  • Kikki K – The ever favorite Australian/Swedish stationery shop! Hong Kong offers a total of four storefronts, three of which are located on Hong Kong Island and the last in Harbour City by Nathan Road. Addresses: Times Square, B216, 1 Matheson St, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong  | Harbour City, 411, 3-27, Canton Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong | Cityplaza, Shop 203,
 18 Taikoo Shing Road
, Taikoo Shing
Central | Prince’s Building,
Shop 220, 2/F Prince’s Building, 10 Chater Road

, Central
  • Other shops to consider: the wholesale shops along Fuk Wing Street sells a lot of cute stationery. It’s the best place for any Kawaii stationery lover!

This list is still a work in progress. If you have any suggestions for new stores, definitely leave a comment below and I’ll add it to the list! My goal is to gather as many shops as I can find in these city guides, so the more the merrier!

I had so much fun with this color scheme and style that I went ahead and made two matching #littleartnotes! This color combo is super rare for me (Titan Buff and Titan Mars Pale with Payne's Gray marks), but I'm really digging it!

When I originally set up these pages in my @getmes When I originally set up these pages in my @getmessyartjournal Season of Bloom art journal, I left a lot of space to write about what blooming means to me. It means growth, blossoming, and becoming. It means to flourish. It also represents nature and the restorative power of being in the wild.

Bloom means a lot to me and yet while finishing up some of these half-finished pages, I was at a loss for words. This is when I found that word phrase stickers really help get the message across. xx
Just another spread in my @getmessyartjournal Seas Just another spread in my @getmessyartjournal Season of Bloom art journal. A lot of these pages were already in progress, so it's interesting to see them finished. I'm sure I had other intentions for what they were going to look like a couple of years ago when I first created this journal. Now, I'm content with matching colors, adding paint, and a few scribbles. This journal is all about the process of creating for me now, which I think is still a source of growth. xx
Another spread in my @getmessyartjournal Season of Another spread in my @getmessyartjournal Season of Bloom art journal. I rather like how this one turned out! I'm quite obsessed with using this Payne's Gray NeoColor crayon to make some scattered marks on my page. You might see a lot more of this in future spreads from this book. xx
